Prof Konstantin Novoselov, a Nobel laureate in physics, recently participated in an academic exchange activity at the University of Macau (UM). During the two-day event, Prof Novoselov discussed his latest research findings on graphene, and shared his experience with experts and scholars at UM. He said much of the research on graphene in the past has focused on its properties, while current studies as well as studies in the future will put more emphasis on graphene’s functionality and applications in our daily lives. Prof Novoselov is currently serving as a professor of physics and a Royal Society Research Professor at the University of Manchester. He was a recipient of the Leverhulme Trust’s Early Career Fellowships in 2004, the Royal Society Research Fellowship in 2006, the European Research Council’s Starting Grants in 2008, and the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010.
