The University of Macau (UM) today (23 March) held a talk titled ‘Is Human Intelligence Outsmarted by Artificial Intelligence? AlphaGo’s Secret’. Prof Lionel Ni, vice rector (academic affairs) of UM and chair professor in the university’s Department of Computer and Information Science, was the keynote speaker. In the talk, Prof Lionel Ni explained the real difference between human intelligence and artificial intelligence in layman’s terms, and analysed in detail the reasons why AlphaGo was so ‘intelligent’.
